Scottish & Newcastle selling 20 freeholds in £10million disposal

Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises has placed 20 freehold pubs on the market through property agent Fleurets.

The pubs, located across the UK, include nine with a food business and six with letting rooms.

The sites are directly owned by the pub company and their sale is part of the company’s bid to concentrate on pub management rather than ownership.

Prices start at £125,000 and go up to £725,000.

Chris Moore, S&N Pub Enterprises’ property director, said: “These are good businesses with proven operators. And we expect this, coupled with their mid market pricing, to make them particularly attractive to local and regional brewers looking to cherry pick pubs in their area.”

Simon Hall, Fleurets agency director, said: ‘This is a superb package of properties and very different from the majority of pub company disposals currently hitting the market. These are most definitely not failed or unviable public houses, quite the contrary. The majority have good levels of trade and are operated by experienced and secure tenants.’
