Mayer Bergman has purchased a stake in a retail
business property site in London.
The real estate investment firm has bought 50% of the Bentall Centre in the south-west of the capital for £130 million from Aviva.
Chief executive of Meyer Bergman Markus Meijer was quoted by Reuters as saying that there are still a number of good deals to be had in the
commercial property market in this country.
"We believe that despite the increases in value seen in the last quarter of 2009 and early 2010, the UK retail market still offers good value," he remarked.
The company said that it intends to increase the value of the shopping centre by undertaking a number of asset management initiatives.
Tenants in the development, which has been open over 15 years and attracts around 14 million visitors annually, include H&M, Levi's, Apple and HMV.
It is also home to the Bentalls department store.
