The Highland Council has approved plans for the redevelopment of a 618-acre
commercial property site at Inverness Airport Business Park (IABP).
According to Property Week, infrastructure work is to begin in the near future, with the first phase of the development resulting in the construction of offices and business property on a 25-acre area.
The IABP is a joint venture between Monray Estates, Highlands and Island Enterprise, and Highlands and Islands Airport, while support is also being provided by the local council.
Colliers International has been appointed to market the buildings to potential occupiers and director at the firm Mike Simpson noted that Inverness is "one of Europe's fastest-growing cities".
"The potential for the economic development of this site has been identified in several reports," he was quoted as saying.
Long-term plans for the IABP - which was created in 2005 - include extra facilities such as hotels, conferencing buildings and retailers, which will support the business and industrial facilities on offer.
