The Westfield London shopping centre has outperformed the centre of the capital and the UK as a whole with its Christmas sales figures.
In December, like-for-like transactions at the site climbed 18%, while footfall at the 150,000 sq m
commercial property site climbed by 31% with nearly 750,000 shoppers visiting over the month, Property Week reports.
Central London like-for-like sales were up 12% over the same time period, while the average figure for the UK as a whole was 4.2% higher.
Managing director of the retail and
business property centre Michael Gutman said he was pleased with the results.
"We expect this
appeal to be enhanced further with the opening of the Vue 14 screen cinemas on the 12th of February," he was quoted as saying.
Westfield London opened in 2008 at a cost of £1.7 billion. The company also has a site in development at Stratford City, east London and operates in the US, Australia and New Zealand as well as the UK.
