Businesses that are looking to expand following the recession can currently take advantage of some "fantastic"
business property deals.
This is according to owner of home improvement retailer D&G Hardware Toby Roberts, who said that firms can make the most of the fact that landlords are "very edgy and very wary".
"They don't want empty units and there are major deals to be done with the existing landlord and if you are growing," he remarked.
Mr Roberts's comments, which were made at the Totally DIY show at Birmingham's NEC, may be welcomed by companies that are looking for
commercial property for rent as part of an expansion plan.
He also said that enterprises should try to do deals with their suppliers, which will not want to be losing business given the fact that the economic environment is still tough.
Earlier this week, figures from the Local Data Company revealed that town centre vacancy rates were 12.4% per cent at the end of last year, an increase from the 10% figure that was recorded in the middle of 2009.
