Consent has been granted to a scheme that will see new
commercial property created in central Manchester.
A 270,000 sq ft building is to be created with the redevelopment of Elizabeth House in St Peter's Square after the project was given planning permission by local authorities.
The move is part of a joint venture between the Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund and Argent and development director for the latter organisation James Nicholson said he was pleased to have a "seal of approval" for the
business property development.
"We can [now] continue to work alongside the city council and other landowners to transform the current site into an unparalleled piece of public realm," he said.
In addition to office space, the building - which is to be renamed One St Peter's Square - will include a mixed-use ground floor that can be used for public exhibitions.
This is one of a number of schemes Argent is overseeing across the country, with the firm also being responsible for the redevelopment of London's King's Cross Central.
