John Lewis has signed a pre-let agreement for
commercial property near Enfield that it intends to use as a customer delivery hub.
The department store chain has reached an agreement with developer Graftongate for an 80,000 sq ft warehouse at Kennet Properties's Innova Park Scheme, Property Week reports.
It has signed a 20-year lease for the site at a rate of £7.85 per sq ft and Graftongate director Colin Beasley said he is pleased with the outcome of the deal.
"We are delighted to be doing repeat business with John Lewis Partnership and carrying out the first substantial pre-let warehouse in the south-east for a considerable period of time," he was quoted as saying.
Construction of the
business property will begin at the end of this month and is expected to be completed by September.
John Lewis is also in the process of expanding its retail operations, having recently announced Croydon as the location of its second At Home store.
