Consumer electronics retailer Best Buy is to take up retail
commercial property at a site on Merseyside.
London & Stamford Property has signed an agreement with the company, which already has an established presence in the US but is now looking to expand into the UK in a joint venture with Carphone Warehouse.
It will occupy a retail unit at the Racecourse Retail Park, Aintree, which counts Marks & Spencer, Next, B&Q and Boots as its tenants.
"London & Stamford is delighted to welcome Best Buy to Racecourse Retail Park Aintree, further endorsing the solid trading potential of this park," non-executive chairman of the
business property group Raymond Mould stated.
He added that the letting will bring another "premium anchor store" to the site, which London & Stamford acquired from a subsidiary of Land Securities in June 2009 for £60.928 million.
The firm's current portfolio also consists of the Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield, as well as office space in cities including Leeds and London.
