Liberty, the London department store, is in discussions with a number of parties that have expressed an interest in taking over the company.
The firm, which is based in
commercial property on Great Marlborough Street just off Regent Street and also sells goods online, said in a statement to the stock exchange that talks are ongoing.
It is currently "too early" to say whether they will result in a formal offer being made for the firm, which earlier this month also revealed it is considering a sale and leaseback of its commercial property - which measures 12,000 sq ft - in the capital.
The firm confirmed that it has "been examining and assessing a range of options and initiatives that would enable it to build upon its success", over the past six months.
It is looking for investors that will help it grow the business both in the UK and overseas, it added, something that may result in it needing to acquire
business property in foreign markets.
