Significant
commercial property investment could need to be made by Deloitte after a merger with Drivers Jonas has been completed, it has been reported.
The Yorkshire Post said that Deloitte plans to double the size of its operations in Yorkshire, which may result in the need for more commercial property to be invested in to accommodate the expansion.
Speaking to the newspaper, John Weir, director of Drivers Jonas Deloitte in Leeds, said the city's office will be used as the central point of expansion into the north-east, a region which the group wants to expand in.
Commercial property in Sheffield, Hull, Wakefield and Bradford may all need to be purchased by the group.
"We came to Leeds three years ago to replicate the success of the business in the north-west where we have a team of 80," he explained.
Indicating its potential plans to
rent commercial property, Drivers Jonas reported in January it was going to merge with Deloitte to form a £110 million real estate group.
