The UK's
residential property retrofitting sector should see strong employment rates despite government cuts, it has been claimed.
According to the Federation of Master Builders (FMB), the green agenda of making residential property more energy efficient means there will be plenty of job opportunities within this industry.
Individuals who recently made a
residential sale will have experienced this push for greener housing stock through Energy Performance Certificates found in Home Information Packs.
Director of external affairs at the FMB Brian Berry said: "I think we have already seen an upturn there in more entrepreneurial construction companies taking advantage of [the energy efficiency drive]."
Many residential property construction firms may find more energy-efficient homes appeal to buyers, who also see the financial benefits they can deliver.
The FMB trade association - which is not for profit and independent - was set up more than 60 years ago in order to protect the interests of the UK's small and medium-sized building firms.
