A
business property is currently empty as supermarket Aldi searches for larger premises.
The distribution centre at Buckshaw Village, Lancashire, may not see new tenants until next year, an expert was quoted by the Lancashire Evening Post as saying.
Daniel Burn, senior associate at property consultants King Sturge, explained the
commercial property could prove to be a big commitment in the current climate.
And this may cause the site, measuring 32 acres, to remain on the market, Mr Burn predicted.
"There is certainly no one in for it at the moment and Aldi is already looking for a 50-acre site elsewhere to the north of Manchester," he noted.
Mr Burn added the retailer - which opened its first store in 1913 - would like to sell the site as a whole, rather than breaking up the premises.
But this could mean the commercial property spends longer on the market, the expert added.
