A large
commercial property will be constructed in Swindon, under plans for a B&Q distribution centre.
With an investment totalling £77.4 million, the DIY retailer hopes the hub will create hundreds of jobs in the area.
Measuring 74,010 sq m, the
business property will be situated at Gazeley's G Park, close to a Honda factory.
A statement from the organisation said the changes will be made in order for products to be brought closer to stores "therefore improving customer service as well as reducing transport miles, transport costs and CO2 emissions".
It is expected the commercial property will be open by 2012 and work is due to begin next year.
B&Q explained all employees will be consulted on the changes that will occur at existing centres in the country.
The organisation has business properties across the world, with more than 60 international stores and 321 in Great Britain and nine in Ireland.
