Fashion retailer group Inditex opened a number of
commercial properties in quarter one (Q1) of 2010, it has revealed.
The firm, which owns stores including Zara, Bershka and Massimo Dutti, has more than 4,000 business properties across 76 countries.
Its stores sales rose by 13 per cent between February 1st and June 7th in local currencies and a total of 98 new retail outlets were launched during Q1 in 29 countries.
Inditex revealed the Zara chain will begin selling products online this September, in areas such as France, the UK and Spain, where the first store opened in 1975.
The total workforce for the group now stands at 93,779 employees and Inditex puts its international success down to its approach to fashion.
Its net sales stood at 2,665 million (£2,119 million) in the first three months of 2010, which is a 14 per cent increase on the same period during the previous year.
