A demolition site is rumoured to be the setting for a new
commercial property in Knutsford, it has been reported.
Work has begun in the area, which many believe could be home to a supermarket, according to the Knutsford Guardian.
The publication revealed Aldi gained planning permission to create a
business property on the Booths Hall site last year, although work did not immediately follow the move.
A spokesperson was quoted by the newspaper as saying: "Unfortunately there is no one available at Aldi to offer a comment at this point."
But there have been barriers put in place for the demolition to get underway and many people are said to have noticed work beginning on the site.
Earlier this year, Waitrose revealed it would be opening a supermarket in the town, although it had not yet confirmed where.
Aldi states it owns more than 375 stores across the UK and is expanding at the rate of one new shop every week.
