Peterborough could see a new
commercial property development if proposals from Dobbies are approved.
The horticultural company - which hopes to build a garden centre in Hampton - explained the proposals for the £8 million development could create many jobs in the area.
Director of property Stuart Wright said: "Our Serpentine Garden World will bring over 120 jobs to Peterborough and will encourage an environmentally friendly approach to 21st century living, where all the family can enjoy planting and growing."
The organisation already owns a number of business properties throughout the UK and has 25 stores in England and Scotland.
It has pledged to act in an environmentally responsible way when creating the new centre, which will contain a recycled water system as well as other green initiatives.
Local businesses may also benefit from the outlet, as it plans to use produce from regional suppliers in the restaurant and food departments, Mr Wright revealed.
