Many
business property owners may consider ways of making their premises more energy efficient and greener.
But a number of firms are unaware of how to do this and what help is available from the government, an expert has said.
Simon Bullock, economy campaigner at Friends of the Earth, stated many environmental initiatives were enforced by the previous government.
These should be better coordinated "so it's clearer to businesses what support is in place and the general direction the government is going in", he continued.
Commercial property owners could see the introduction of a green investment bank in the future - a proposal supported by the Conservatives before their election.
Mr Bullock added the green economy is key to the country's economic growth, so it should be supported.
A report from the Work Foundation entitled A 2020 Low Carbon Economy found low carbon economy jobs are being risked by confusion over regulation and other bureaucratic issues.
