A new
commercial property in Saltburn, Cleveland, is due to be revealed tomorrow (June 30th) and will create a number of jobs.
Sainsbury's will open the
business property - formerly a Somerfield store - and retain all previous members of staff.
Measuring 11,000 sq ft, the retail outlet has been extended and includes 118 parking spaces.
Store manager Michael Watkiss said: "It's fantastic to be a part of Saltburn and we're looking forward to working closely with the community in things such as the upcoming folk festival and dressing up for Victorian Weekend."
More choice will be available to customers, with the introduction of a deli counter, bakery and ATM machine all planned for the new commercial property.
Sainsbury's opened its first store in 1869 on Drury Lane, London, selling milk, butter and eggs.
In March, the company had 537 supermarkets and 335 convenience stores across the UK, with larger shops stocking approximately 30,000 products.
