Commercial properties will be constructed as part of a £150 million project in Liverpool, it has emerged.
Project Jennifer plans to regenerate the area by bringing homes, business properties and a large Sainsbury's supermarket to Great Homer Street in the north of the city.
The initiative is backed by St Modwen, which specialises in regenerating from a number of regional offices across the UK, working with private and public sector firms.
Following the Manchester High Court ruling in favour of the scheme, regional director Michelle Taylor said: "It has been a frustrating time for all involved. We can now look forward to delivering this."
Tesco had applied to build a store on the site, but the proposal was disallowed.
Malcolm Kennedy, city council cabinet member for regeneration, stated previous legal challenges had delayed Project Jennifer, but he now hopes the scheme can go ahead and make a difference to the area.
