A new
commercial property owned by supermarket chain Asda could be one step closer to construction, after ministers met to discuss plans.
The
business property will be situated in Inverness if the scheme gets the go-ahead, reported the Scotsman.
But no formal decision can be made in the near future, due to concerns over traffic issues.
The publication explained Asda must complete a traffic congestion scheme that has to be approved by authorities in three months time.
Lisa Rooke, property communications manager for the retailer, said: "As soon as we have the permission we will submit our detailed plans to The Highland Council for approval to pave the way for the development."
The newspaper noted the ministers revealed they are "minded" to give their approval to the commercial property project, which is a "step forward" for the scheme.
Asda offers a range of retail outlets, ranging from smaller supermarkets to supercentres, employing up to 680 members of staff.
