Surrey Heath Borough Council has offered officers and staff from Surrey Police the shared use of its Camberley
commercial property.
At the local authority's executive meeting, it was decided its headquarters will be shared to help relocate the neighbourhood policing team, which is currently based at Camberley Police Station.
The team will move into the borough council's
business property to help support joint activity in areas including anti-social behaviour prevention.
It is expected the commercial property move will happen in the autumn and Moira Gibson, leader of the Surrey Heath Borough Council, said: "We already work closely with the police and the opportunity to share the council offices will enhance existing relationships, as well as bring efficiency benefits to support the delivery of services to the public."
Other local joint initiatives include the partnership of Surrey Police and Surrey County Council under the Safer and Stronger Communities Team.
This addresses community safety and emergency planning for the public.
