Another City office scheme restarts to meet anticipated demand for top spec offices
Favermead has restarted development of it's 60 Holborn Viaduct project. It had mothballed it after securing planning permission in December 2007, the 20,000m project is the latest in a line of stalled office schemes, such as Richard Rogers’ Leadenhall skyscraper, to have been re-started in the City in recent months.
The Kohn Pedersen Fox designed scheme, which features an undulating façade with twisted fins sitting in front of a glazed curtain wall, replaces the now demolished 1967 Bath House, which was a poor example of it's period architecture.
John Bushell, KPF’s principal in charge of the project said: ‘The scheme’s ‘return’ is a response to the current commercial office market in London, particularly the need for high specification, sustainable and flexible offices spaces which can be adapted to accommodate multiple tenants.’
