Residential property builder Cala Homes has called for a judicial review of a decision made by the government.
It emerged today (August 10th) the company wants to look into the move to get rid of Regional Spatial Strategies and has launched a High Court claim against Eric Pickles, communities secretary.
In a statement the housebuilder said: "The consequence of the secretary of state's decision, whether intended or not, has been to curtail development in many areas including those where there is a clear need."
Ian Ginbey from Macfarlanes, which is representing Cala Homes, stated projects around the country now lack certainty.
Plans to create 2,000 homes in Wincester from the housebuilder - which has been in operation for more than 30 years - were recently rejected and an appeal was due to be held.
But it now states such an appeal is no longer possible due to the lack of planning policy.
