Those looking for new business properties in Northampton may soon have the option of purchasing in a development where the former Avon building sat.
According to the Northampton Chronicle, the cosmetic firm's offices have been "a highly-visible part of the skyline" since their creation in the 1960s.
But the company has now moved to an eco-friendly site and demolition of the existing building is set to begin.
Avon stated: "The removal of this building will enhance the view from the new marina development for visitors."
The site will be combined with a former power station and ex-landfill plots to create thousands of homes and retail properties.
Peter Mawson, chief executive of planning authority the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation, believes the area is set to become "a vibrant and exciting part of the town that local people can be really proud of".
Avon has been in operation in the UK for more than 50 years and exists in over 120 countries around the world.
