A
property development in Leeds is still progressing after financing behind the scheme was cut.
The Tower Works in Holbeck Urban Village have already undergone a certain level of transformation and the site will eventually provide business properties and community space.
But Yorkshire Forward - which acquired the Tower Works site in 2005 - has been forced to make £1.9 million worth of cuts in order to meet governmental savings.
Despite the slash in funding, the redevelopment is set to go ahead after demolition work has already been carried out at Tower Works.
The construction was built in the latter part of the 19th century but will now be updated to offer
commercial properties and space for businesses around the region.
Yorkshire Forward exists as the a regional development agency for the Yorkshire and Humber region, with nine bodies carrying out such work across England.
Funding for the agencies comes directly from central government and the European Union.
