Plans for investment in Rochdale's business properties have been unveiled.
The town centre will be transformed with new stores and a hotel if Genr8 Developments' £100 million blueprint is approved by the local council.
A public consultation on the plans will take place before the application is formally lodged with the authority.
Council leader Irene Davidson told BBC News that the
business property plans are an "important milestone" for the town, which is also due to be part of the extension of the Metrolink tram service.
A new sixth form college is also in the pipeline for the Greater Manchester town
"We very much welcome the funding partnership and we look forward to working with Genr8 to progress a scheme through to planning application stage," Ms Davidson remarked.
The matter is set to be decided at a cabinet meeting on October 1st, with Genr8 planning to set to work in 2012 if the plans are approved by councilors.
