A
property development site in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, is the subject of a number of bids for ownership.
Kent News reported there have been over 20 offers for the plot, which used to house an ABC cinema, with Waitrose said to be interested in the land.
It is named as a "prime development site" by the publication and entered the open market in May, following ten years when it was out of use.
Savills is currently considering the list of bidders and Ian Fowler, a director of the property agency based in Sevenoaks, said: "In another three weeks we will have the preferred bidder, as there is no point in hanging around, we need to move on."
Kent News recently revealed Tunbridge Wells Borough Council was planning to bid on the
property development site, meaning local entrepreneur Simon Hume-Kendall decided against entering the process.
Mr Hume-Kendall told the publication the ABC plot has "become a thorn in the side of the town".
