5 star hotel planned for Scottish Borders
Acting on behalf of UK-based developers Manor Kingdom Estates and De Vere Hotels, Knight Frank has submitted plans to Scottish Borders Council to create a luxurious 5* hotel and conference facility in West Linton.
The proposals represent a significant investment for the local economy, creating over 300 new jobs and helping to establish the Scottish Borders as a five star destination within the domestic and international tourism market.
The new hotel, to be known as Rutherford Castle, will be set in 18 acres and will comprise 150 bedrooms, a deluxe spa and leisure club,cafes, fine dining restaurant, wine cellar, whisky lounge, a grand ballroom and conference rooms. The planned investment is £50 million, if the application is successful.
De Vere, who already run nearby Barony Castle and the five star Cameron House by Loch Lomond.
